Zaheer Khan feels both Shivam Dube and Hardik Pandya can seal spots in India’s T20 World Cup squad

While debate rages on about who among the two should be picked in India's squad for the T20 World Cup, former Indian pacer Zaheer Khan has tabled an interesting take about how India can take the both all-rounders in the T20 World Cup squad.

The race for the few remaining spots in the India’s squad for the T20 World Cup is heating up. One of the main dillemma the Indian team faces is the selection conundrum between fast-bowling all-rounders Shivam Dube and Hardik Pandya. While Hardik is miles ahead in terms of experience in the national set-up, injuries have kept him away for quite a long time. On the other hand, Shivam Dube has made the most of his chance in the just-concluded IND vs AFG series.

While debate rages on about who among the two should be picked in India’s squad for the T20 World Cup, former Indian pacer Zaheer Khan has tabled an interesting take about how India can take the both all-rounders in the T20 World Cup squad. According to Zaheer, the possibility depends on India’s preferred combination.

“They definitely can be, if you are planning like that. It will depend a lot on whether you are looking for a sixth bowling option or want to play five bowlers, the direction in which you want to go,” Zaheer told Colours Cineplex.

According to Zaheer, India can accommodate both allrounders if the team management decides to take only one wicketkeeper in the squad.

“If you say you need a sixth bowling option, you need a backup as well. If you talk about the squad, you can see both Hardik and Shivam Dube together only if you take one wicketkeeper instead of two wicketkeepers,” Zaheer said.
