The anticipation of all the fans came to an end when the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the first two-week schedule of the upcoming IPL, which will start from March 22. English pacer Mark Wood has taken back his name from the tournament to manage his workload ahead of the T20 World Cup. The tournament will start just after IPL 2024 on June 2. LSG named Shamar Joseph his replacement.

Kolkata Knight Riders had acquired Gus Atkinson at his base price of Rs 1 crore. He has not stated the reason behind his withdrawal. Sri Lankan speedster Dushmantha Chameera has been named as his replacement.
