He deserves a trophy: Suresh Raina backs RCB and Virat Kohli to win elusive IPL trophy

The RCB has seen monstrous performances from several of its players in different editions of the tournament but none has resulted in the franchise lifting the elusive trophy.

Former Indian batter Suresh Raina has said Virat Kohli deserves an IPL trophy as Kohli gears up to play the 17th edition of the tournament in IPL 2024. Raina believes that after his impressive performances for both the Royal Challengers Bangalore and the Indian team, his former teammate, Virat Kohli, deserves an IPL trophy.

Royal Challenger Bangalore will go hard once again in the IPL 2024 to lift the trophy that has eluded them since the start of the tournament in 2008. The RCB has seen monstrous performances from several of its players in different editions of the tournament but none has resulted in the franchise lifting the elusive trophy. The franchise, which will be led by Faf Du Plessis, will look to bring an end to the curse.

To talk about Kohli, the Indian batter has been absent from the ongoing IND vs ENG series due to personal reasons. His wife, actress Anushka Sharma, recently gave birth to a baby boy in London and he has been busy with parenthood. However, he is expected to return to action in IPL 2024 which starts on March 22nd.

Raina was asked about RCB’s chance of winning the IPL trophy in an interview with Times of India.

Virat deserves a trophy. He has done so well for the Indian team and RCB for years. He has had a lot of success at RCB and his fans deserve to hold a trophy for him,” Raina said.
