FC Goa files official complaint against Mumbai City FC for spying ahead of ISL clash

FC Goa has alleged that Mumbai City FC’s analyst was spying on team's training session and recorded footage related to the training ahead of ISL clash.

A controversy has erupted in the Indian Super League (ISL) as FC Goa filed an official complaint against defending champions Mumbai City FC on Tuesday, citing an ‘integrity issue’.

The dispute arises ahead of their scheduled match on February 28 at the Mumbai Football Arena. FC Goa alleges that Mumbai City FC sent a photographer to spy on their training preparations during matchday-1 training session in Mumbai on February 27.

As per reports, Mumbai City FC’s analyst was spotted at FC Goa’s training session and recorded footage related to the training.

Expressing displeasure over the incident, FC Goa head coach Manolo Marquez voiced his frustration during the pre-match press conference.

When asked about Borja Herrera’s injury status, Marquez said, “Ask the photographer who was recording our training session. The photographer from Mumbai City FC. Check with Mumbai if he is training or not.”

In response to the alleged incident, FC Goa has officially lodged a complaint with the ISL authorities. The controversy adds an unexpected layer of tension to the upcoming clash between FC Goa and Mumbai City FC, with both teams looking to secure crucial points in the ISL.

Mumbai City FC is yet to put out any statement on the allegations.
